Illegal Apc Gubernatorial Primary Election In Jalingo, A Spit On Nigeria’s Judiciary, Actors Will Face The Full Wrath Of The Law.

The deliberate violation of a Supreme Court judgment by the APC National Working Committee under the Chairmanship of Sen Abdullahi Adamu is not only an aberration of norms but it’s a slap and wilful disregard to the sacrosanct authority of the highest court of the land, which certainly will attract deserving consequences. The desperation of a man should not take Nigeria back to the Stone Age. What happened in Jalingo remains a social gathering of desperadoes and has no place in the eyes of the law.

The public should recall that on Wednesday 1st February 2023, the Supreme Court of Nigeria through a panel of five (5) judges delivered a judgement in the case between our principal David Sabo Kente VS Emmanuel Bwacha. The suit which was an appeal filed by David Sabo Kente, prayed that the Supreme Court set aside the judgement of the lower court (Appeal Court). In the wisdom of the honourable justices, the gubernatorial candidacy of Emmanuel Bwacha to represent Taraba APC in the forth coming governorship elections was nullified, upon declaring null and void the purported primary elections that produced him last year.

The apex court clearly in it judgement set aside the judgement of the lower court and thus upheld that of the trial court in terms of reliefs 1-8 as contained in the originating summons of the David Sabo Kente. No where in relief 1-8 of the originating summons called for fresh primaries, even as the judgement of the trial court only called for primaries in order 9 which the apex court also diminished. In simple terms, the Supreme Court did not order for any sort of fresh primary election.

It is only disturbing and an act of wilful disregard for law and order that Emmanuel Bwacha will go on to organise a one man social gathering in the name of primary election in Jalingo. This is a direct confrontation on the powers and wrath of Nigeria’s judiciary.

We want to appeal to our supporters to remain calm and unbothered. All necessary measures are underway and the Supreme Court of Nigeria is also fully aware of this barbaric act. In the coming days from Monday, the public will see in full gear the repercussions of disobedience to the orders of the apex court. No stone will be left unturn, a precedence will be set for future violators. The sanctity of our court is not to be played with.
