Taraba State Governor Encourages New Security Chiefs to Combat Crime Proactively

 

 In a recent development in Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Governor, has called on the newly appointed security chiefs to adopt a proactive approach in their operations to effectively combat crime and criminality within the state. This appeal was made during their introductory visit at the Exco Chamber, Government House in Jalingo on Monday. The meeting was significant as it saw the welcoming of three key security personnel to the state: Brigadier General Kingsley Chidebere Uwa, the new Commander of the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Jalingo; David Layomum, the freshly appointed Commissioner of Police; and Abdulmumini Lawal, the latest Controller of Immigration Service. Dr. Kefas expressed his optimism about the impact their assignments would have on the state's security situation, emphasizing the need for their extensive experience to be utilized in ensuring that criminal elements find no foothold within Taraba State's borders. Governor Kefas highlighted the importance of visionary leadership among the security chiefs, calling for transformative changes in their respective domains. The event, attended by high-ranking state officials including the Deputy Governor, the State PDP Chairman, the SGS, the Chief of Staff, members of the state executive council, and other service chiefs, concluded with presentations from the new officers.
